Connect Mailchimp and ProhostAI can manage audiences and campaigns using the guest data you already hold — which is where repeat direct bookings actually come from.

Every operator knows a returning guest is the best booking available: no commission, no acquisition cost, and someone who already knows how the place works. Almost nobody does anything systematic about it.

The reason is that the list is the hard part. Guest details are spread across channels and reservations, extracting them is tedious, and by the time somebody has assembled a spreadsheet the season has moved on.

Connecting Mailchimp removes the assembly. Audiences can be built from guests who actually stayed, campaigns targeted at the ones who came in the shoulder season rather than everybody, and the whole thing run without exporting anything to a spreadsheet first.

One caveat worth stating plainly: marketing to past guests carries consent obligations, and they vary by jurisdiction. Sending to everyone who ever stayed is both legally risky and a reliable way to have your domain marked as spam, which costs more than the campaign was worth.

Setup

Mailchimp connects through OAuth, so ProhostAI never sees your password.

Open ProhostAI and go to Settings → Connections.
Search for Mailchimp and select Connect.
Sign in to Mailchimp and approve the permissions.
Ask how a recent campaign performed to confirm it works.

Consent obligations apply and vary by jurisdiction. Having a guest’s email because they booked is not automatically permission to market to them.
